Webinar: How to Use the Early Warning System to Support Communities

By International Accountability Project and Sustenarse

International Accountability Project and Sustentarse invite you to analyze how to use the Early Warning System (EWS) to support communities impacted by projects financed by International Financial Institutions (IFIs).

Date: June 09, 2021

Time: 6PM Chile | 6PM Bolivia | 5PM Peru

Duration: 1 hour

Language: Spanish

Registration to participate in the webinar: https://zoom.us/j/96218968708

The webinar intends to present the Early Warning System (EWS) as a tool that provides effective support and advice to address the challenges faced by communities in the face of projects financed by International Financial Institutions (IFIs). The discussion will also explore how civil society, grassroots organizations, and socio-environmental activists can partner with the system’s outreach community and receive, on a regular basis, updated information on projects financed by development institutions even before their approval. The idea is to strengthen our network of allies and work collectively, in a sustainable and preventive way, to support the communities.

The organizations will use the case that impacted traditional communities of artisanal fishermen in Tocopilla, Chile, as an example of the cooperation that can arise from the cooperation of the community that is part of the SAT.
